Freshnet Selected as Project/Contract Manager for Electronic Security at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics
March, 2009
Freshnet was selected by the Integrated Securities Unit (ISU) of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games to manage electonic security. The ISU is a cross-agency team brought together to ensure a successful and secure Olympics and Paralympics.
Freshnet will play a key role as project and contracts manager for the Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS). PIDS will secure approximately 27 km at 20 major venues and 3 command centres.
This initiative is expected to save millions of tax dollars by requiring many fewer personnel to be deployed during the Games. It is also expected to contribute greatly to a more secure and comfortable Games without the obvious presence of a large number of security personnel.
This is en exciting and challenging project involving a large number of organizations and high stakes.
