BCcampus Student Transcript Exchange Pilot Goes Live!

The BCcampus pilot to develop a locally hosted electronic student transcript service is now live at Simon Fraser University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Douglas College. Freshnet has been very pleased to lead this exciting pilot project.
Formerly, the only cost-effective option was to utilize a US based EDI service operated by the University of Texas. This had the obvious drawback of subjecting Canadian data to the American Patriot Act. The introduction of the BCcampus hosted transcript exchange will enable postsecondary institutions to exchange student transcripts securely and efficiently via an XML service operated on infrastructure located in BC.
The next phase of the project will be to develop the implementation plan for a province-wide rollout. Freshnet is currently engaged in developing the rollout plan.
